Welcome to the UCF Arboretum
Welcome to the UCF Arboretum! Take a virtual journey of the arboretum and learn about some of its many facets. The arboretum’s sustainability initiatives team leverages AI-technology to divert food waste from UCF's two on-campus dining halls, '63 South and Knightro's. The waste identified by the technology, called Raccoon Eyes, is turned into compost by community partner O-Town Compost. Some of that usable compost goes to the arboretum’s community farm and garden — helping to grow produce for the Knights Helping Knights Pantry. The journey continues as we show you the impactful and interconnected work the apiary, public garden management and plant production teams conduct, including opportunities for environmental research and hands-on learning for students.
Next, from waterways to roads — and everything in between — the stormwater compliance team works to support and regulate the stormwater systems, maintaining the delicate ecosystems around campus.Wrapping it all up: The arboretum's education and outreach team develops and implements effective and engaging educational programs that teach the UCF community and the public about the unique species in the arboretum, including bats!Follow UCF on social!
