- Aug 266:00 PMBasketball Officiating Class 2025The UCF Recreation and Wellness Center, in collaboration with the University of Central Florida Officials Association, will be offering the 29th Annual Basketball Officiating Class. This class is designed to train officials in the proper rules and mechanics needed to officiate at the high school level and beyond. Qualified officials will teach it from the local high school associations, various college conferences and professional leagues, including the NBA.When: Class begins Tuesday, August 26, and takes place from 6:00-10:00 PM, and will continue every Tuesday until October 21.Class Format: Class will meet each night in the Recreation and Wellness Center, Room 206. Rules, discussion, and hands-on training will take place in each class. Instructors and guest speakers will provide feedback on how to improve through on-court and video-taped critiques. FEE: The cost is $35.00 for UCF Students and $80.00 for non-UCF Students. Registration includes a whistle, a t-shirt, a class manual, and instruction. Parking is not included in this fee. *Only 26 spaces are available. Registration will continue until the class is filled. It requires no special equipment or previous experience, making it perfect for all ages and fitness levels.Meet us on the second floor lobby of Unionwest by 5:45 p.m. As a group, we will head over to Blue Swan Boulders for Open Bouldering Night. Blue Swan Boulders is a five- to seven-minute walk from the UCF Downtown campus. To participate, you must bring your student ID. - Aug 2710:00 AMAdult First Aid/CPR/AED Training - Blended LearningThe RWC offers American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED, First Aid Blended Learning classes. The Blended Learning class includes an online portion (most participants can complete this in approximately 2 hours) and an instructor-led class skills session (approximately two hours long). The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class skills session.Each participant who successfully completes the course will earn an American Red Cross certificate in Adult First Aid, CPR with AED. The certificate is valid for two years.To register for this class please call 407-823-2408, or walk into the RWC administrative office between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and someone will assist you!
