All trips are now first-come, first-served. All trips will open two weeks before the first day of the trip. If the trip is full, you can register for the waitlist using the link above.Pre-Trip Date & Time: 6/13/24 - 6 p.m.Trip Description: If you want to paddle through mangrove tunnels, no need to travel to The Everglades -- Banana River is one of the most extensive network of mangrove tunnels in Florida! We'll spend the day exploring the 1000 Islands Conservation Area near Cocoa Beach from the comfort of stand-up paddleboards (though we usually prefer to sit!).What's Included: All of our adventures include all necessary gear for the activity (including paddleboards, PFDs, etc), transportation to/from the activity and professional guidance by Outdoor Adventure Trip Leaders. All staff are certified in First Aid/CPR/AED, and most are certified Wilderness First Responders.What's Not Included: Participants should wear athletic clothing and appropriate footwear, and bring personal water/snacks. Meals are not provided. - Jul 3–6Open Water Scuba CertificationAboutOutdoor Adventure is proud to partner with Ranger Rick's SCUBA Adventure, one of the most experienced scuba dive outfitters, for our entry-level NAUI SCUBA certification course. This course is available for students who are currently enrolled and taking classes at UCF.Upon successful completion of this course and check-out dives, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training. No previous SCUBA experience is required, however, basic swimming skills are necessary to complete the course.Cost The total cost of the certification is $320 with $40 due at the time of registration. The rest of the price is due the first weekend of the certification paid to Ranger Rick SCUBA Adventures.ScheduleIn order for the participant to receive the SCUBA certification, they must complete two consecutive weekends of training. The first weekend encompasses classroom work and practice dives in the pool. The first weekend includes Friday night, all day Saturday and all day Sunday. For the second weekend, Ranger Rick will pick either Saturday or Sunday to complete the Open Water Dives. There will be some adjustments to this schedule as you can see below.Current Certification Dates:* May 2024 Certification * May 10-12 - UCF Classroom Session, Pool Session, First Check-Out Dive * May 19 - Second Check-Out Dive * June 2024 Certification * June 6-8 - UCF Classroom Session, Pool Session, First Check-Out Dive * June 16 - Second Check-Out Dive * Please note: The classroom session will be Thursday night, followed by two pool sessions on Friday and Saturday afternoon for this certification. Transportation is not included.EquipmentA SCUBA-quality mask, snorkel, wetsuit, fins, and SCUBA booties are the student's responsibility to bring to all dive sessions. These pieces can be rented through the Outdoor Adventure Center and is included in the course fee. This equipment is subject to availability.
