KDE is widely used in spatial ecology for calculating animal home ranges and species distributions where the assumptions behind conventional KDE are often pushed beyond their limits. In this seminar I will present over a decade of research that now allows for accurate kernel density estimates to be computed from irregularly sampled times-series data that are sampled from heterogeneous populations.

During this event, you will get the chance to paddle on the lake once the sun goes down with our knowledgeable paddle guides. They will teach you basic paddle strokes, leave no trace principles, and exciting information about the flora and fauna that call Lake Claire home. You might even get a chance to break out the glow sticks.* Event Dates: 10/6/25, 11/5/25 and 11/20/25 * Event Time: 8-10 p.m. * Event Location: Lake Claire Recreation Area * Cost: $5All Moonlight Paddles participants will meet our paddle guides at 8 p.m. on the dock at Lake Claire.
