The UCF football team hosts its season opener on Thursday, August 28, against Jacksonville State in search of the program's 10th straight opening night win.

A new era is upon the Knights, as a familiar face in head coach [Scott Frost](https://ucfknights.com/staff/scott-frost "Scott Frost") returns to the helm of the Black and Gold. Frost originally served as UCF's head coach from 2016 to 2017, culminating in a historic 13-0 season, an AAC championship and a national championship that captured the nation's attention.
