The UCF Symphony Orchestra opens the doors for a dress rehearsal in preparation for their concert the following night as part of the St. Lukes Concert Series featuring Rebecca Burkardt as Guest Conductor. The UCF Symphony Orchestra is a full orchestra with strings, brass, woodwind and percussion. The group performs literature of the highest caliber by master composers such as Bach, Beethoven and Mahler.

UCF's two auditioned large ensembles, the UCF Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, will present their combined concert in the Pegasus Ballroom in the UCF Student Union. The program will feature the premiere of a new concert for two solo flutes & wind ensembles, as well as a variety of some of the best traditional and contemporary works for wind band.

The Central Florida SaxFest features activities for middle school, high school, college and community players, including performances, clinics and a saxophone band reading session. David Griffin is the fourth horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Upon graduating from Northwestern University in 1987, Griffin began his career with the Rochester Philharmonic and followed with positions in the orchestras of Montreal and Houston before joining the Chicago Symphony in 1995. Griffin has served as guest principal horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Saint Louis Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Shanghai Radio Orchestra. In September 2017, Griffin traveled to Japan for a solo tour, performing recitals in Tokyo, Nagasaki, and Osaka.

Come sing one memorized selection for the voice faculty at UCF in preparation for MPA or your college audition. We will work with you in a master class setting and offer feedback. Parents are encouraged to attend the welcome meeting at 1:00 p.m.; it will offer suggestions/tips on how to support their student's pursuit of a college music degree.
