Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college and university students, but it is also one of the most preventable causes of death. In this suicide prevention training, you will learn how to identify individuals at risk, talk with them about their suicidal thoughts, and refer them to resources for help. It is designed for students, faculty and staff, and anyone at UCF. Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) is a free, one-hour presentation where you will learn the warning signs of suicide and three basic principles of how to help save a life.CAPS is hosting virtual QPR workshops. Summer Research Academy (SRA) is a fast-paced, summer introduction to research course including a three-day in person event in July; ideal for students who want to begin research in the fall.SRA is offered as a Summer B for-credit course or as non-credit with pre-academy assignments two weeks before SRA meeting dates.Students will:* Learn about the nature of university research and how it can expand your undergraduate experience. * Meet with research faculty and other students active in research. * Explore research opportunities available to undergraduate students at UCF. * Prepare professionally for future research, internships/careers and advanced degrees. * Earn 1-credit hour for completing the Introduction to Research courseVirtual Location URL: https://academicsuccess.ucf.edu/our/prospective/sra/
