AboutOutdoor Adventure is proud to partner with Ranger Rick's SCUBA Adventure, one of the most experienced scuba dive outfitters, for our entry-level NAUI SCUBA certification course. This course is available for students who are currently enrolled and taking classes at UCF.Upon successful completion of this course and check-out dives, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision, provided the diving activities and the areas dived approximate those of training. No previous SCUBA experience is required; however, basic swimming skills are necessary to complete the course.Cost The total cost of the certification is $320 with $40 due at the time of registration. The rest of the price is due the first weekend of the certification paid to Ranger Rick SCUBA Adventures.ScheduleIn order for the participant to receive the SCUBA certification, they must complete two consecutive weekends of training. The first weekend encompasses classroom work and practice dives in the pool. Normally, the first weekend includes Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. For the second weekend, our instructor will pick either Saturday or Sunday to complete the Open Water Dives. This in-person workshop will discuss: If you reside in Florida, you are subject to hurricanes, floods, storms, and other natural events on an annual basis. When FEMA is activated, emergency contracting will be needed and if you are registered in the [SAM.gov](http://sam.gov/) disaster registry your firm may be considered for those short-fused contracts. We will discuss how emergency contracting takes place, will address some of the provision of the Stafford Act to protect impacted area small businesses, and will highlight some of the federal agencies that make use of contractors to fulfill their disaster recovery mission: FEMA, US Army Corps of Engineers, others. The RWC offers American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED, First Aid Blended Learning classes. The Blended Learning class includes an online portion (most participants can complete this in approximately 2 hours) and an instructor-led class skills session (approximately two hours long). The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class skills session.Each participant who successfully completes the course will earn an American Red Cross certificate in Adult First Aid, CPR with AED. This monthly food distribution event is a volunteering opportunity that occurs on the third Thursday of every month at the 910 Livingston Street Church of God about a block and half from UCF Downtown and Valencia College Downtown.The entire volunteer opportunity is from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. There are two volunteer shifts: 8:30-11 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.-1p.m. Volunteers may sign up for one or both shifts (link below).Volunteers will be expected to assist with setup and teardown, breakdown and repackage food for distribution, and assist with loading patron's vehicles.*If all 20 spots are filled, you are still able to come volunteer.
