- Jan 191:30 PMGuest Artist Masterclass: David Griffin, Horn Chicago Symphony OrchestraDavid Griffin is the fourth horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Upon graduating from Northwestern University in 1987, Griffin began his career with the Rochester Philharmonic and followed with positions in the orchestras of Montreal and Houston before joining the Chicago Symphony in 1995. Griffin has served as guest principal horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Saint Louis Symphony, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Shanghai Radio Orchestra. In September 2017, Griffin traveled to Japan for a solo tour, performing recitals in Tokyo, Nagasaki, and Osaka.

Repertoire and improvisation skills are the main focus of these groups. The Jazz Chamber groups perform frequently around Central Florida.

- Feb 212:00 PM35th Annual UCF Clarinet DayThe UCF Music Department is proud to announce the Thirty-fifth Annual UCF Clarinet Day on Sunday, February 2, 2025, with guest artist Ricardo Morales, Principal Clarinet of the Philadelphia Orchestra.Ricardo Morales joined The Philadelphia Orchestra as principal clarinet in 2003 and made his solo debut with the Orchestra in 2004. He previously served as principal clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. During his tenure with that ensemble, he soloed at Carnegie Hall and on two European tours. He has also been a featured soloist with the Chicago Symphony, the Cincinnati Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony, the Seoul Philharmonic, the Columbus Symphony, the Memphis Symphony, and the Flemish Radio Symphony. The group performs literature of the highest caliber by master composers such as Bach, Beethoven and Mahler.

The ensemble performs locally and regionally for various concerts and festivals and is open to all students regardless of major, but participation is by audition only, taking place at the beginning of each semester.
- Feb 156:00 PMSchubert's "Die Winterreise"Franz Schubert's Winterreise (Winter Journey) is probably the most respected and performed song cycle ever written. Published in 1828, it is a setting of 24 poems by German poet Wilhelm Muller. This performance is a product of Thomas Potter's voice studio, each singing 2 or 3 of the songs, accompanied by pianist Julie Tompkins. It was designed to introduce the UCF voice students to this monumental work, and to share it in a public performance.
