- 10:00 AM2hSVAD In-Person Information Session and TourStudents interested in programs within the School of Visual Arts and Design are encouraged to tour our art studios and other computer labs. Each tour begins with an information session presented by the SVAD advising team with an overview of each program and their requirements. Tours are conducted by faculty, staff, alumni and student ambassadors who are enrolled in an SVAD program. These sessions and tours are offered together and are scheduled on select Fridays (except for holidays). Each info session begins at 10 a.m. and tours begin at 11 a.m. in the Visual Arts Building. Tours are limited to 15 individuals. Large groups or schools should [contact our office](mailto:svadadvising@ucf.edu) ahead of time to make arrangements. - 10:00 AM7hMemento Morididdle Exhibition by Charles ClaryMemento Morididdle Exhibition by Charles ClaryExhibition Dates: September 12, 2024 - October 11, 2024Charles Clary's Memento Morididdle installations take the form of Victorian or Rococo salon style walls, densely compacted with hundreds of frames, with each frame containing a paper sculpture. This maximalist approach to his installation practice achieves the desired outcome of overwhelming the viewer with an inundation of information. But unlike historic sitting rooms, he collects his traumas, abuses, transgressions and grief for exhibition. These memories are on display for all to see -- no hiding, no masking, just raw truths. Not only are they my traumas, but they are often those of the viewers as well. Collectively we hurt, we grieve and we lament the darkest moments in our lives.
