Students participate in hands-on activities, group projects, and presentations led by our own faculty and student organizations. Students may also visit various off-campus UCF labs.

The program will offer hands-on activities, group work and lectures given by local professors at UCF. Participants will learn about exciting mathematics, discover new arguments and explain insights to their peers. Throughout the program, not only will students engage in deep exploration of mathematics and develop as a mathematician, but they will be immersed in a community of others who share their mathematical talent and curiosity. Join us to learn more.About this eventThe HUT program allows juniors and seniors from all disciplines to engage in original and independent research as principal investigators. Over the course of two to four semesters, students work closely with a faculty committee to research, write, defend and publish an original thesis that serves as an honors capstone product of their undergraduate career. This thesis is published through the university library and is available to researchers worldwide through electronic databases.These information sessions cover the honors thesis eligibility requirements, program benefits and an overview of the steps to complete an honors undergraduate thesis/creative project. - Jul 22–26Biology Summer InstituteThe Biology Summer Institute is a one-week program for rising junior and senior high school students interested in seeking further understanding of Central Florida's diverse ecosystems, from Orlando to the east coast. This program will introduce students to field techniques and experimental approaches used in water quality assessment, vegetation monitoring, forest ecology, and studies of gopher tortoises and marine turtles. Throughout the program, students will participate in hands-on experiences with professional biologists in a fun and educational setting designed to inspire a passion for studying the fields of biology, ecology and natural resource conservation. In addition, students will spend one day in the lab learning basic data analysis and the importance of communicating science.
